Precious Cargo
Our infant rooms a warm and stimulating environment for your child. Our infant room provides an atmosphere that encourages exploration. Our daily schedule includes developmentally appropriate activities for infants such as book exploration, tummy time, opportunities to reach, grasp, and pull themselves upright. Outdoor explorations allow for new and exciting experiences to enhance your child’s day. There is also a strong balance of auditory and visual simulation, including age appropriate toys and activities.

Lil’ Toots
The curriculum in the Lil Toots room is both fun and educational. Children are encouraged to learn about the world around them based on play, exploration, and guided activities. The activities and materials are chosen based on the child’s interests and are designed to boost independence, cooperation, and self-esteem.

Teachers in our ones room develop a curriculum using Creative Curriculum which encourages individual learning and focuses on each child’s own developmental level, using PA Early Learning Standards.

The lessons are also developmentally appropriate and correlate with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Standards.

Lil’ Whistles
In the Lil’ Whistles room, children begin to learn about the concepts of others, which includes playing along side of them and sharing. Motor abilities are beginning to develop including hopping, jumping, running, climbing, and using crayons.  Centers range from transportation, blocks, pretend play and the music area. There is also time to go outside and play on the soft turf while being closely supervised.

Our teachers use Creative Curriculum and PA Early Learning Standards in the classroom to incorporate a weekly theme, activity as well as literacy each day to promote fun and effective learning for our toddlers.

Lil’ Engines
This room supports a tremendous amount of growth that takes place during this age. We provide a flexible environment that supports curiosity, creativity, and your toddler’s own unique forms of self expression. We provide activities that allow for this exploration and engage the children in stimulating activities.

Kidsville Junction provides an enriched curriculum. Our teachers develop weekly lesson plans that are based upon a common theme. These lessons provide life-long learning including small and large group activities that expand their interests. Ourdoor activities such as outside organized games help with the exploration process.

A major focus is put on our curriculum as our teachers incorporate PA Early Learning Standards, STEAM activities, Grow as you Go, Block Party, as well as a social and emotional curriculum entitled PATHS that is designed to teach feeling.

Locomotives
Our preschool room is full of rapidly expanding the minds and teaching the children about the world around them. Play is the young child’s medium for learning, it creates something meaningful for themselves and others. Young children expend great effort in completeing what they set out to do. Our program at Kidsville Junction facilitates their learning in all developmental areas-physical, emotional, and intellectual.

Children are encouraged to learn about their world through a balance of play, exploration, and guided activities. Age appropriate language and pre-reading or reading activities are evident. The children in the locomotives room are also prepared for school by weekly themed lessons prepared by the teachers.

Getting ready for Kindergarten is an important goal of our teachers. Using Grow as You Go, STEAM, Ready, Set, Learn Curriculum, along with our PATHS and Creative Curriculum our teacher work to prepare our Pre-K into lifelong learners.

De-Railers
Our school-agers begin each morning preparing for school in a calm atmosphere. Centers are out that include puzzles, reading, drawing, etc. The students can also finish up any homework with assistance from the staff if there are any questions.

After school, the children have been there all day and the energy level is high. The after-school program at Kidsville Junction allows for high-energy activities that are still enriching in education. The activities are meaningful, appropriate, educational, and fun!

Dramatic play areas, computers, books, and other motor skills centers are out so that students can unwind or get their energy out. There is also time at the end of the day to finish homework and students feel free to be guided and encouraged by the staff.

Outside time is also very important. Some schools do not allow much time for recess and outside time if vital for children to keep up a healthy immune system. If the weather is good, then school-agers are given anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour outside to run, play, or have outside organized games.

Believe it or not our school age teachers still do lesson planning. Before and after school activities are a great way to incorporate free play and STEAM learning. Learning doesn’t just go through the school year, our Summer Camp program for our school-agers is designed using the PA Learning Standards that encourages learning all summer, as well.
